'Maza Aya': Ali Zafar releases anthem and fans love it
(Web Desk) - The ICC World Cup 2023 features a new anthem performed by singer Ali Zafar.
His most recent song has Hashim Nawaz as a collaborator and the song holds its own against legendary predecessors like 'De Ghumake' from 2011, despite the cliched backing vocals and bland synth lines that suddenly appear in the middle of the track.
A homage to hip-hop is welcome and Nawaz includes some of his own rap flows that have dominated Pakistan's sports-related music for the previous four years.
Although the chorus "Maza Aya" is a popular compositional element, the song's lyrics heavily rely on it, which prevents it from conjuring the cricket craze that Pakistani audiences are known for.

Zafar took to Instagram and shared his thoughts on his latest offering. “I wish I had more time… but for the love of cricket and my fans, presenting Maza Aya."
